RENEWABLE FUELS REACHES FINALS OF SCOTTISH GREEN ENERGY AWARDS 2007

Lantmännen Renewable Fuels was one of four companies who reached the finals in the Best Renewable Project cateogry of the Scottish Green Energy Awards 2007, held in Edinburgh in December.

The award went to E.ON UK for its Stevens Croft Power Station in Lockerbie which is expected to power around 70,000 homes with electricity generated in the dedicated biomass station that will run on wood fuels, including energy crops.

Scottish Renewables welcomes increased funding for biomass supply chain development
Scottish Renewables today welcomed the announcement by Deputy First Minister Nicol Stephen of the allocation of an extra £3 million, in addition to the previously announced £7.5 million, for the Scottish Biomass Support Scheme. Scotland’s bioenergy sector reacted quickly to the call for applications to the scheme at the start of 2007.
